Kaloud Lotus II Heat Management Device
The Kaloud Lotus II is the second generation heat management device. It sits on your bowl in place of foil and controls how much heat reaches the shisha. Six finishes, and it is the generation that introduced the deeper ash catch.
The problem with the first Lotus was ash. Coconut coals shed as they burn, and on the original design that ash could find its way down to the tobacco. Ash on shisha tastes exactly like it sounds. The Lotus II reshaped the interior to hold it, so what falls off your coals stays in the device.
Why heat management matters
Shisha vaporizes rather than burns. The useful window runs roughly 130 to 220 degrees Celsius. Push past 220 to 250 and the tobacco enters pyrolysis, which is where harshness and the scorched finish come from. Foil sits the coals directly against the shisha and blows through that window within minutes. The Lotus holds them off it and moves heat by convection and radiation instead, so the window stays open for the whole session.
Three heat settings
- Lid off. Lowest heat. Use it while the bowl is coming up, or to recover one that has gone hot.
- Lid on, vents open. Medium. Where most of a session lives.
- Lid on, vents closed. Maximum. Dense cut tobacco and the back half of a long night.
You change setting by rotating the lid. No tongs, no moving coals.
Where the Lotus II sits in the range
The I+ is lighter and simpler. The III added handles on the lid and base so you can operate it hot without tongs. The I+3 added a stainless base and four coal capacity. The II is the middle of the line and it is the value pick if you want a Kaloud device without paying for the newest one.
Finishes
Standard Lotus II, plus Argis, Auris, Cyris, Niris, and Nubis. Kaloud does not anodise or powder coat these. Colour goes on through a proprietary non toxic process, which is why abrasives will ruin them.
What it fits
The Kaloud Samsaris Vitria II and the Samsaris Lapis Ceramic for Lotus II are both cut for it and seat flush. Standard phunnel bowls work with a silicone sleeve if they have no lip.
Care
Never preheat the Lotus II. Bring coals up on a burner and transfer them across. Direct flame damages the device and voids the warranty. Cool it fully before cleaning, then brush out the ash catch. That last part matters more on this model than any other, because the deeper catch is the thing collecting everything.
Buying a genuine Lotus
The Lotus is the most copied product in hookah. Counterfeits use unspecified alloys, run hot, and carry no warranty. 5StarHookah is a contracted Kaloud dealer. Every unit here ships directly from Kaloud with the Limited Lifetime Warranty intact.
Common questions
Do I still need foil?
No. The Lotus II replaces it entirely.
What changed from the first Lotus?
A deeper ash catch so ash does not reach the shisha, higher grade materials, and better heat retention.
Can I preheat it?
No. Heat the coals separately and transfer them. Direct flame voids the warranty.
Which bowl should I use?
The Samsaris Vitria II or the Samsaris Lapis Ceramic for Lotus II. Both are cut for it.
Should I buy the II or the III?
The III if you want built in handles and the newest design. The II if you want a genuine Kaloud device at a lower price.
Does the finish affect performance?
No. All six are the same device.
Is it genuine?
Yes. 5StarHookah is a contracted Kaloud dealer and every unit ships from Kaloud with the warranty intact.
