Kaloud Samsaris Vitria II Lotus 1+

The Kaloud Samsaris Vitria II is a borosilicate glass and food grade silicone hookah bowl, cut to seat the Lotus I+. It is the standard pairing for that device and what most Lotus I+ owners should be running.

Two materials, two jobs. Borosilicate glass forms the chamber because glass is chemically inert and absorbs nothing. Food grade silicone forms the lip because that is what the Lotus grips. The device seats rather than balances, and it stays seated when you turn the lid.

Why glass

Clay absorbs. Every clay bowl eventually carries a trace of everything ever smoked in it, and scrubbing does not bring it back. Glass takes on nothing, so a mint bowl and a dessert bowl taste like themselves.

Borosilicate rather than ordinary glass, because its low thermal expansion lets it sit under a hot device without stressing.

Why the pairing matters

This bowl is dimensioned around the Lotus I+. The device seats flush with no gap and no sleeve required. Running a Lotus on a bowl built for another generation leaves a gap, and a gap is heat going anywhere except into your tobacco.

Packing it

Fluff pack, not dense. Break the shisha apart with your fingers, drop it in loosely to just under the lip, then level it without pressing. Leave a few millimetres of clearance, because shisha expands as it heats and tobacco touching the device scorches fast.

Care

Cool it fully, then wash in warm water. Glass releases residue immediately. Never run cold water into a hot bowl.

Glass, ceramic, or high heat

• Vitria glass. Absorbs nothing, and you can see the pack. The default.
• Lapis ceramic. More thermal mass, steadier through long sessions.
• Samsaris High Heat. Deliberately hot. Dense cut and dark leaf only.
